Citizens in PCMC jurisdiction did not liked PCMC Commissioner interaction on FB over property tax

Many citizens have started the initiative titled " Ayukta Hatayo Panvel Bachayo"

Navi Mumbai | The Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) after collecting 13 lakh property tax through online on the first day of the start of property tax is in news for bad reason. The PCMC aim of collecting the tax from the citizens for five years did not go well with the citizens staying in PCMC jurisdiction. The citizens did not even like the PCMC Commissioner Sudhakar Deshmukh's interaction with them online on Facebook to appeal for the tax.

Earlier the PCMC Chief interacted with the residents of Panvel on 17 June, 2021 through Facebook Live. During the interaction the PCMC Chief appealed and also told everyone that they need to pay their taxes and he said that it will be good for the residents of PCMC jurisdiction if they pay their taxes till 31st July.

The residents of PCMC jurisdiction were not happy with the PCMC Chief appeal and they started a campaign titled " Ayukta Hatayo Panvel Bachayo" on social media. Through this campaign the residents have appealed to all the Panvelkars to come ahead and support the campaign.

Panvel resident Santosh Jadhav said, " It is really very sad that the PCMC is charging dual taxation whereas they have not provided any better services in five years. We have been paying to CIDCO. Why should we pay to PCMC again? The campaign "Ayukta Hatayo Panvel Bachayo" was initiated because many residents were not satisfied with the PCMC Commissioner replies during the Facebook Live interaction."

PCMC Commissioner Sudhakar Deshmukh even after several attempts were unavailable for the comments.
