Maharashtra Job Scam Allegations: FIR Names Prabhakar Kale and Four Others After Complaint Over Alleged Fake Government Recruitment Promise
A complaint filed by Taloja resident Varsha Bhutale has led to an FIR against Prabhakar Kale, Vishwanath Gacche, Sainath Whatkar, Snehal Koli and Manohar Chorge over allegations of an alleged government job recruitment scam involving a candidate from Nanded.
Allegations of a government job recruitment scam linked to promises of public sector employment have surfaced in Maharashtra after a complaint filed by Taloja resident Varsha Bhutale resulted in the registration of a criminal case against five individuals, including Prabhakar Kale.
According to the complaint, the matter relates to events that allegedly took place when Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was serving as Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The complaint alleges that a young man from Nanded, identified as Ritesh Kamble, was promised employment in government service and was subsequently induced to part with ₹7.65 lakh.
Police records cited in the complaint reportedly name Prabhakar Kale, Vishwanath Gacche, Snehal Koli, Manohar Chorge and Sainath Whatkar. The allegations remain under investigation, and no court has yet determined criminal liability.
According to Bhutale’s complaint, she met Vishwanath Gacche at Mantralaya and was allegedly told that official work could be facilitated through Prabhakar Kale. Bhutale alleged that she later requested assistance in securing employment for her nephew, Ritesh Kamble.
₹7.65 Lakh Recruitment Promise Lands in Police Probe
The complaint further alleges that an initial demand of ₹20 lakh was made for securing a government job. Bhutale claimed that the amount was later negotiated to ₹7.65 lakh, of which ₹7.25 lakh was allegedly transferred online to a bank account and ₹40,000 was paid in cash.
Allegations in the complaint state that Kamble was taken to Mantralaya, where he was allegedly interviewed on the ground floor and later shown postings inside the Chief Minister’s office area. The complaint further alleges that Vishwanath Gacche, Sainath Whatkar, Snehal Koli and Manohar Chorge participated in various stages of the purported recruitment process.
Bhutale has also alleged that Kamble was taken to G.T. Hospital for medical examinations and was subsequently provided with what she describes as a forged appointment letter and training documents indicating selection as a Forest Guard.

According to the complaint, Kamble was allegedly taken to Ramtek in Nagpur district for joining formalities, later brought to Nashik for medical procedures, and subsequently sent to Patan in Satara district for what was described as training. Bhutale alleges that no training actually took place.
The complaint further claims that Whatkar allegedly left Kamble alone at Patan and that subsequent efforts to contact the individuals named in the complaint did not resolve the matter. Bhutale has also alleged that threats were issued when she sought clarification regarding the recruitment process.
One of the more significant allegations contained in the complaint concerns claims that approximately 40 young candidates attended interviews on the same day as Kamble. Bhutale alleged in the FIR that each candidate may have been asked to pay between ₹15 lakh and ₹20 lakh for employment opportunities. These allegations have not been independently verified.
Bhutale additionally alleged that Vishwanath Gacche showed her a bank account containing ₹5 crore and made statements regarding payments allegedly connected to a Pune-based builder and Prabhakar Kale. These claims remain allegations recorded in the complaint and have not been established in court.
Prabhakar Kale is widely known in Maharashtra political circles as a close aide of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. However, neither the FIR nor the complaint constitutes proof of wrongdoing, and all accused persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Sprouts News attempted to obtain comments from the individuals named in the complaint. Any response received will be incorporated into future updates. The investigation is continuing, and authorities are expected to examine documentary evidence, financial transactions and witness statements before determining the next course of action.
This remains a developing story. Further updates are expected as investigators review the allegations and the accused persons are allowed to present their version of events.
