Mumbai’s iconic public trust, Bhandari Mandal Dadar, renowned for its 100-year legacy, is currently at the center of a major governance upheaval. In a special general body meeting held on April 14, the existing chairman and trustee ( Krushna Shantaram Chamankar) were voted out through a unanimous no-confidence motion. Leadership Under Fire: Appointments Declared Unconstitutional
The Sprouts News Special Investigation Team (SIT) has learned that the primary reason behind this decisive action was irregularities in the appointment process. Fraudulent chairman Gurunath Mithbavkar’s selection was not in compliance with Section 13 of the trust’s constitution, prompting the no-confidence motion. Similarly, the appointment of trustee Krishna Chamanakar, approved in the executive meeting on April 4, 2025, violated Section 41 and was also nullified.
These revelations came after growing internal discord and escalating dissatisfaction among members regarding transparency and rule adherence. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) reports that these motions received full consensus during the extraordinary session, signaling widespread concern over the current administration’s conduct.
