In a dramatic political twist, Eknath Khadse has accused BJP leader Girish Mahajan of targeting his family through police action. Following Khadse’s damaging remarks on Mahajan’s character, sources allege Mahajan orchestrated a pressure tactic using the police force to retaliate and silence Khadse and his son-in-law.
Eknath Khadse’s Son-in-law Arrested: Is It More Than Just a Rave Party?
A major political storm has erupted in Maharashtra after Pune police arrested Pranjal Khewalkar, the son-in-law of veteran politician Eknath Khadse, during a midnight raid on an alleged rave party in Kharadi. While police claim to have recovered narcotic substances from the scene, Khewalkar’s legal team and political supporters have alleged a well-orchestrated trap to silence Khadse’s rising criticism of senior BJP leader Girish Mahajan.
The Sprouts News Investigation Team (SIT) has learned that this incident comes amid a brewing cold war between Khadse and Mahajan, with several sharp allegations exchanged publicly in recent days. The timing of Khewalkar’s arrest has raised eyebrows across the political spectrum.

Lawyers Cry Foul: “Fabricated Trap to Silence Dissent”
After the court remanded Pranjal Khewalkar to two days of police custody, his lawyer made explosive claims before the media, asserting that police had previously attempted to trap Khewalkar on two to three occasions. According to him, plainclothes officers had visited hotels where Khewalkar stayed, conducted surveillance, and attempted to frame him earlier as well.
The advocate further stated that medical reports and blood samples will prove Khewalkar never consumed any narcotics. “This is a false and fabricated case. If he had consumed drugs, it would have shown in the test results. But there is no such evidence,” the lawyer asserted, adding, “If proven wrong, he is ready to face punishment, but don’t trap innocent people for political gain.”
Sprouts SIT Probes Pattern of Targeting Whistleblowers
Sprouts SIT notes a disturbing pattern in Maharashtra politics where vocal critics or those questioning the BJP leadership are seemingly targeted via enforcement agencies. Sushma Andhare echoed this sentiment stating, “This is a message to anyone who speaks like Khadse: Stay quiet, or face raids.”
Supriya Sule also hinted at a potential cover-up, expressing concerns over manipulation of medical reports at Sassoon Hospital. “We must ensure full transparency in such politically sensitive cases,” she said.
Raut, Pawar, Sule Back Khadse, Slam BJP Over “Revenge Politics”
Senior Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut lashed out at the BJP, stating, “Eknath Khadse raises questions, and instead of investigating those, you raid his family? Your entire BJP is turning into a rave party!” Rohit Pawar added that this appears to be a strategic political hit job. “Media received rave party videos before they even reached court — how? Did the police leak them to damage reputations?” he asked.
Both Raut and Pawar demanded an independent inquiry. Pawar added, “If hidden cameras were placed to trap people in private homes, that’s not investigation — that’s political sabotage.”
Khadse Breaks Silence: “I Saw It Coming”
Eknath Khadse himself admitted during a Sprouts News interview, “I knew this was coming. This is a tactic to stop those who speak out.” He hinted at larger forces at play and questioned whether the local police could conduct a fair investigation without political pressure.
“If this is a conspiracy, it must be exposed. But if anyone is guilty, punishment must follow. Let the truth come out,” Khadse added.
Political Fallout Begins: Call for CBI or SIT Probe Grows
With the controversy deepening, opposition leaders and political analysts are now calling for an independent inquiry, possibly by the CBI or a Special Investigation Team. Sprouts SIT will continue tracking developments and has already begun reviewing past attempts to intimidate Khadse and others with similar tactics.
Whether this is genuine law enforcement or political persecution, one thing is certain: the lines between crime, politics, and vendetta in Maharashtra continue to blur.

Midnight Raid at Kharadi Farmhouse Shocks Pune
In a dramatic late-night operation, Pune police raided a private farmhouse in the upscale Kharadi area, claiming to bust a rave party involving alleged drug use. Authorities stated that narcotic substances were recovered from the premises and several individuals were detained, including Pranjal Khewalkar, the son-in-law of senior politician Eknath Khadse.
Police Claim Drugs, Lawyers Cry Political Trap
According to police officials, the raid was based on prior intelligence, and the drugs were found hidden in the farmhouse. However, Khewalkar’s legal team has rubbished the claims, calling the raid a politically motivated act. They allege he was framed, and that medical tests will prove no substance abuse on his part.
