In a case that shakes the foundation of workplace ethics and corporate governance, a senior woman employee at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. (MOFSL) has accused the company of running a deliberate, large-scale conspiracy to defame, harass, and unlawfully suspend her through fabricated sexual misconduct allegations. The incident, now spanning over three years, has reached multiple courts and law enforcement agencies, triggering widespread concern over abuse of POSH Act provisions and employee rights.
The Sprouts News Investigation Team (SIT) has accessed exclusive documents and testimonies that point toward a well coordinated internal cover-up, involving over 27 individuals including senior leadership, management, board members, HR, legal teams, men booked in the FIR, and even a fake inquiry complaints committee (ICC) allegedly created to formalize her pre-planned removal.

Sexual Shaming & Sexual Defamation Allegations & Forced Unlawful Suspension Without Due Process

The complainant, a now 40-year-old Associate Vice President, says she was suspended without notice in 2022 based on vague allegations that she made some male colleagues “sexually uncomfortable.” She maintains that these complaints were never shown to her, and that she was threatened with being marked as “absconding or resigned” anyways if she refused to resign.
She was immediately suspended, triggering mental and emotional breakdown. The allegations, she claims, were the result of an orchestrated plot by MOFSL stalwarts, allegedly intended to eliminate her from the organization.
When she contacted Mumbai CP Sanjay Pandey’s office, the matter was forwarded to Dadar police, where her statement was recorded. During the inquiry, one of the alleged male complainants admitted to Dadar Senior PI Mahesh Mugutrao that he was coerced by his Senior Manager into filing a complaint, although he personally had no issues with her behavior. This was confirmed by the cop during his media interview 3 years ago. Despite this, no internal support was offered to her by MOFSL. CHRO/Executive Director/Board Member Sudhir Dhar reportedly refused to appear before the police despite multiple calls at the time.

Fake Inquiry Committee, 3 Fabricated Complaints on the spot & 6 Fabricated Complaints after her suspension & Media Backlash

Following her suspension, the company allegedly created six additional fake complaints over & above the existing 2 line copy-paste complaints and formed a fake Independent Complaints Committee composed of retired ACP Sunil Deshmukh, Advocate Neeta Naik Jain, and Advocate Chetana Lal — All named by the woman as part of a “fake ICC,” formed in breach of the POSH Act and without any neutrality.
MOFSL, she says, took over five weeks after the incident to even call her for an inquiry hearing. By that time, the company had already launched a civil defamation suit in the City Civil Court & a writ petition requesting FIR quashing in the Bombay High Court. MOFSL also circulated internal emails defaming her to over 10,000 employees, circulated lies on verified MOFSL corporate social media accounts & individual WhatsApp status, and recorded sexual misconduct statements with the police — behind her back. All this even before her fake hearing.
The Sprouts SIT confirms that the woman never received access to the additional fake ICC complaints created. Zone 5 DCP Pranaya Ashok got her access to only 9 HR internal fake complaints after 18 days of her suspension — Raising grave concerns about procedural abuse and lack of transparency in what was presented as an independent inquiry.



Sprouts SIT’s legal review indicates that a bare minimum seven FIRs could be pursued in addition to the existing IPC 509 FIR & Chargesheet registered. The nature of the potential charges span:

•Cyber Crime (Social media impersonation, surveillance).

•Defamation & Stalking (Internal mass emails, social media & WhatsApp status character assassination – All revealing identity of woman unlawfully after FIR registered for a sexual crime, stalking at St Regis Hotel & FB friend requests – All by men booked in the FIR).

•Pre-Planned Criminal Conspiracy, Forgery & Falsification of Documents (Falsified pay-slips, FNF settlement documents, MOFSL self-written resignation entries, termination order written by MOFSL lawyer booked in the FIR, suspension email – All documents that contradict each other, & fake NCFM records).

•Outraging the Modesty of a Woman again by 4 more individuals over & above the 8 men booked in the FIR, Mental Harassment, Violation of the POSH Act.

The matter has touched three courts — Bombay High Court, City Civil Court, and the Magistrate Court at Sewri— and involves 21 judges, 5 public prosecutors, and multiple delaying tactics & stretched hearings over a period of three years. Legal filings also mention that strangely MOFSL was granted permission to register a civil defamation lawsuit at the City Civil Court during summer vacations of 2022. How ? Strangely MOFSL lawyers also registered a backdated Notice of Motion & got it on board & made a request to circulate papers & proceedings. How ? Feels like manipulation of judicial timelines by MOFSL.
MOFSL Scandal POSH Bypassed, Fake ICC, Real Conspiracy.
The woman made three 154 (3) pleas and two 166 & 166 (A) filings with SP Manoj Patil, urging action under criminal law against the individuals & Dadar cops involved. Yet no formal additional 7 FIRs were registered for the wider conspiracy. No additional 30 odd sections approximately were added. No additional 20 names were pressed.
Despite a police-provided free lawyer 2 & a half years ago, who was assisting her in preparing police submissions, who also requested for a meeting with Zone 5 DCP Manoj Patil, senior MOFSL officials were allegedly shielded from scrutiny & after all this the free lawyer could still not meet Zone 5 DCP Manoj Patil. In contrast, MOFSL continued legal action against the woman in both courts – City Civil Court & Bombay High Court, raising red flags over judicial imbalance.
The woman filed a reply on record in both courts – Bombay High Court & City Civil Court. She then filed 9 additional exhibits at the City Civil Court. Two Judges then took it upon themselves & taught her & dictated for her 7 production circular forms, also attached court fees, moved precipe & got the matter on the board for her – All this at the City Civil Court. The woman also filed 2 additional supplementary statements with Zone 5 DCP Manoj Patil after she found 38 errors in the chargesheet.
In her police and court submissions, the woman has named the following people & the company as co-conspirators:

Internal Call Taking Agents : Suraj Pawar, Prince Sharma, Sneha Haldankar, Aakash Sharma, Vedant Purohit, Aayush Madia, Pooja Dubey
Fake External ICC Members: Retired ACP Sunil Deshmukh, Adv. Neeta Naik Jain, Adv. Chetana Lal
This group of 27 individuals & MOFSL, according to Sprouts SIT sources, may face serious consequences if the requested FIRs are invoked based on the woman’s evidence.

Corporate POSH Compliance & Whistleblower Rights Under Severe Scrutiny

Sprouts SIT experts have noted alarming loopholes in how corporate India handles POSH complaints — Not to ensure safety, but as tools for reputational and career destruction. In this case, the alleged use of false sexual allegations, retaliatory HR action, and fabricated legal documentation expose regulatory vulnerabilities and lack of corporate accountability.

The scale of the conspiracy, and the misuse of workplace harassment laws to punish a whistleblower, requires urgent policy and legal correction.
