In a shocking revelation by the Sprouts Special Investigation Team, prime accused Ashok Sharma remains scot-free even after nine months, despite the registration of the MPID Act against him. The police have failed to seize his properties or take decisive action to bring him to justice.

• Negligence in Investigation

Despite the Maharashtra Protection of Investors Deposit (MPID) Act being invoked, the police have not taken possession of Ashok Sharma’s properties. This raises serious concerns about the efficiency and intent of the authorities handling the case. Furthermore, Rajesh Khanna, the complainant, has repeatedly provided proof of fraudulent and unauthorized transactions worth crores, yet the police have not frozen a single bank account linked to the accused.

Adding to the controversy, the case was transferred from Charkop Police Station to Malad Police Station without notifying the complainant, further compounding suspicions of collusion between law enforcement and the accused.

• Key Lapses in the Case

1. Lookout Notice for Show: The police have issued a lookout notice against Ashok Sharma, but it appears to be merely a formality rather than an actual effort to apprehend him.

2. Property Not Attached: Despite MPID charges, neither Ashok Sharma nor Sulekha Sharma’s properties have been attached by the authorities.

3. Bank Statements Ignored: Rajesh Khanna provided police with more than 20 bank statements of transactions, yet no accounts have been frozen.

4. Passport Not Seized:Ashok Sharma allegedly fled to Dubai due to police inaction in confiscating his passport.
5. No Statement from Sulekha Sharma:

Despite being a key accused, Sulekha Sharma’s statement has not yet been recorded.

6. No Arrest Despite Bail Rejection: Sulekha Sharma’s bail was rejected by the Sessions Court, yet she remains free.

7. Repeated Absences at High Court: The investigating officer failed to appear in court four times, hinting at a deliberate attempt to weaken the case.

8. DCP Anand Bhoite’s Inaction: The DCP has not authorized any arrests despite clear evidence.

9. Ignored Letters to Higher Authorities: Rajesh Khanna sent multiple letters to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Joint CP, CM, and Home Ministry, but no action has been taken.

10. Unexplained Case Transfer: The complainant never requested a transfer from Charkop to Malad Police Station, yet it was done without reason or prior intimation.

• Massive ₹500 Crore Scam Affecting 15,000 Investors

Ashok Sharma and his wife, Sulekha Sharma, are accused of defrauding over 15,000 investors of more than ₹500 crore through a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment scheme under the company FVP Trade Pvt. Ltd. Investors were promised attractive monthly returns of 10-15%, leading them to trust the fraudulent scheme.

Rajesh Khanna, a key investor, filed a complaint at Charkop Police Station on March 27, 2024, but FIR (Case No. 311/2024) was delayed until June 9, 2024, after continuous follow-ups. The FIR includes IPC Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servants), 420 (cheating), and 34 (common intention), along with MPID Sections 3 and 4.

Despite the substantial fraud, the investigation appears to be deliberately slow, with several high-profile individuals possibly involved in protecting the accused. The Sprouts News Team will continue to expose the truth and ensure justice for the victims of this massive financial scam.
