A shocking scam has come to light where fraudsters are impersonating Ramdev Baba’s Patanjali Wellness (Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust) to dupe innocent patients seeking Ayurvedic treatment. These scammers operate by using fake contact numbers, official-looking letterheads, and even legitimate-sounding bank accounts to trap their victims.
• Delhi Couple Loses ₹35,000 in Fake Patanjali Booking
A couple from Delhi, eager to visit ‘Patanjali Wellness’ for Ayurvedic treatment, searched for the contact details on Patanjali’s official website. They called the number listed, unaware that it was a fraudulent helpline set up by scammers.
The scammer, posing as an official representative, asked the couple to submit their medical reports. He then provided bank account details under the name ‘Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust’ and requested a payment of ₹35,000 via IMPS.
Later, the fraudster demanded an additional ₹40,000, claiming that more tests were required at the Patanjali Wellness Centre. The couple, sensing something suspicious, refused to make further payments. However, by then, they had already transferred ₹35,000 into what appeared to be an official account.
On March 19, when they called Patanjali’s official customer care, they were shocked to learn that no such booking had been made in their name. The couple was devastated, realizing they had been scammed despite transferring money into an account labeled Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust.
• Fraudulent Bank Account Details Used in the Scam
• Bank Name: Bank of India
• A/C Name: Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust
• A/C No: 447510110008059
• IFSC Code: BKID0007210
• Branch: Haridwar, Uttarakhand
This revelation raises serious concerns—how is a scammer able to operate a bank account under the name Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust in Haridwar? Why has Patanjali not taken action despite multiple complaints from victims? Is this an external fraud, or is an insider from Patanjali Ayurved involved in such scams
