Shiv Sena MLA Anil Parab has alleged that a dance bar in Kandivali, Mumbai, operates under the name of Minister Yogesh Kadam’s mother, Jyoti Kadam. Despite a state-wide ban, the bar was raided with 22 dancers detained. Parab demanded Kadam’s resignation. SIT has launched an investigation into the matter.
On the final day of Maharashtra’s monsoon legislative session, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) MLA Anil Parab leveled serious allegations against Minister of State for Home Affairs Yogesh Kadam. Parab claimed that a controversial dance bar named ‘SAVALI’ in Kandivali, Mumbai, is licensed under Kadam’s mother, Jyoti Ramdas Kadam’s name.
Parab revealed that a police raid was conducted on May 30, 2025, during which 22 bar dancers, 22 customers, and 4 staff members were detained. He questioned how the bar was still operational despite a legal ban on dance bars in Maharashtra.
These revelations, delivered in the Legislative Council, have ignited a political storm, with widespread calls for the minister’s resignation. The Sprouts News Investigation Team (SIT) has initiated a deeper probe into the ownership, licensing, and political protection behind such establishments.
Illegal Dance Bar Operation? Police Raid Raises Red Flags
According to Parab, Mumbai police raided the Savali Bar in Kandivali under the jurisdiction of Samta Nagar Police Station on May 30, 2025. Following the raid, police registered a panchnama (official record) and filed cases against customers present at the scene.
Crucially, Parab presented documents suggesting that the bar’s operational license is registered under Jyoti Ramdas Kadam, the mother of Minister Yogesh Kadam. This information directly links the minister’s family to an industry that is explicitly banned in the state.
Parab demanded accountability and raised a pressing question: “If dance bars are banned, how is one functioning under the name of a minister’s mother?” The SIT (Sprouts News Investigation Team) has called for an official inquiry, suggesting possible misuse of power and regulatory negligence.
“Blessings from Sisters, but You Make Others Dance?”: Anil Parab’s Fierce Attack
In a scathing speech, Anil Parab attacked the moral contradiction in Kadam’s position. He said, “On one hand, you claim to seek blessings from sisters, and on the other, you make others’ mothers and sisters dance in bars?”
Calling the situation shameful, Parab said “Maharashtra is being compared to Bihar now — are we heading towards moral collapse?” He demanded the immediate resignation of Minister Kadam and warned that if the Chief Minister fails to act, it will be seen as state-sponsored support of illegality.
He further challenged Ajit Pawar and CM Devendra Fadnavis to take swift disciplinary action, else risk losing public trust. Parab’s tone reflected rising anger among opposition leaders, who now consider this case a litmus test of government accountability and law enforcement integrity.
Political Fallout: Assembly Disrupted by Allegations
The final day of the session was already charged due to a scuffle between NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Jitendra Awhad’s and BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar’s supporters. Parab’s allegations added fuel to the fire, echoing throughout both houses of the legislature.
While the state government has yet to issue a formal response, pressure is mounting from the opposition, media, and civil society for a full investigation. The Sprouts News Investigation Team (SIT) has confirmed that it is verifying official permit records, police documentation, and links between political figures and bar licenses in Mumbai’s suburban zones.

Will the State Act, or Protect Its Own?
As calls grow louder for Yogesh Kadam’s resignation, this incident is likely to dominate Maharashtra’s political discourse in the coming weeks. If proven true, the situation could not only embarrass the ruling alliance but also shake public confidence in the enforcement of morality laws and ministerial conduct.
Sprouts News will continue following the developments. The SIT is actively reviewing RTI records and court filings related to this incident. Stay tuned for further updates.
