Nowadays a tag of PhD to their names is luring many people. Even illiterates failed in second and third standard, dreaming of getting PhDs. Taking advantage of the craze for the PhDs, even second standard failed people are being offered PhDs for heavy price by certain bogus institutes.
The programs of awarding bogus PhDs are being held in Raj Bhavan and some time in five star hotels. Those running bogus educational institutes have been selling the bogus PhDs for Rs 50,000 to Rs two lakh and collecting crores of rupees.
The shocking incident of one such bogus institute awarding the PhD to actor Govinda at an event organised at his residence, has been exposed by the Special Investigating Team of the Sprouts.
The program to award the fake PhD to Govinda was organised at his residence on January 22,2022 by the NRI Social and Cultural Associations of America. Govinda, his brother Kirti Ahuja and others were awarded the honorary PhDs in this program.
The certificates bore the name of the American University, USA. Madhu Krishnan is the chief of this institute. This news was flashed by the Times of India’s website, claiming it as India’s most trusted brand, on January 23, 2023. Even the photographs of Krishnan were published with an “exclusive” tag.
As per Madhu Krishnan’s letter, the program was organised by Ranbir Singh Laishram and Satyaprakash Tiwari obtained fake prints of the PhDs and distributed them as certificates without asking him. This is a bit intriguing.
Madhu Krishnan involved in the clandestine business of distributing fake PhDs to earn crores of rupees can be the best case study. Krishnan resides in Karnataka but claims to be settled in the USA. He has distributed thousands of fake PhDs and has also set up 4 to 5 bogus universities. His websites also try to present themselves as of international standards.
Madhu Krishnan and Ranbir Singh Laishram have also photographed themselves with Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
Similarly one Anton Jayasuriya has also distributed thousands of bogus PhDs world over. The name of his bogus university is The International Open University for Complementary Medicines, Colombo. He has set up many such bogus universities.
