In a shocking revelation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) informed the Supreme Court that the ₹21,000 crore drug haul from Gujarat’s private Mundra Port is linked to the Pahalgam terror attack. The seized consignment included 3,000 kilograms of narcotics, raising serious questions about security lapses at critical infrastructure points. Mundra Port, located in Gujarat’s Kutch district, is operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ).

Pahalgam Terror Attack Link : Mumbai Redevelopment and Port Security Concerns Rise

The Mundra Port, India’s first private port, has witnessed repeated incidents of large-scale drug smuggling. Investigations reveal that narcotics often enter through routes originating from Afghanistan. Sprouts News had previously reported similar concerns about unchecked cargo movements impacting not just Gujarat but also Mumbai’s redevelopment logistics and supply chains.

Security agencies are now intensifying scrutiny on port operations, emphasizing the need for tighter regulations. The involvement of a key port in such illegal activities could undermine major urban development projects relying on secure trade routes.

Pahalgam Terror Attack Link : Illegal Migration Challenges Gujarat’s Urban Development

Thousands of Bangladeshi infiltrators have been found living illegally in Gujarat, particularly in Ahmedabad and Surat. Recent combing operations resulted in the detention of over 1,000 undocumented immigrants, including women and children. Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, confirmed that deportation proceedings are underway.

Authorities have warned that anyone sheltering illegal immigrants will face legal action. Sanghavi urged undocumented individuals to surrender voluntarily or risk forced detention and deportation. The findings have raised alarm bells for Mumbai’s housing societies and urban development stakeholders, as unchecked migration poses significant planning and security challenges.

Pahalgam Terror Attack Link : Redevelopment Projects at Risk Amid Security Gaps

According to officials, many detained migrants obtained forged documents in West Bengal before moving to Gujarat. Some were also found involved in human trafficking activities. Authorities have pledged to share evidence of document forgery with the West Bengal government, highlighting interstate administrative lapses.

The crackdown follows cabinet-level discussions emphasizing the removal of illegal Pakistani citizens from Gujarat as well. Police forces across Gujarat have been instructed to act decisively against illegal immigrants, a move expected to influence future urban development policy in cities like Mumbai and Surat.

Pahalgam Attack Link : Government Warns Against Broadcasting Security Operations

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Central Government has issued strict advisories to media outlets. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting directed that live coverage of army movements and security operations be avoided. Officials warned that such broadcasts could inadvertently aid enemy forces.

The advisory, issued after incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, also mentioned that violations could invite legal action. Sprouts News notes that these new guidelines aim to balance press freedom with national security, a consideration that is crucial in sensitive redevelopment and housing projects in Mumbai and other metro regions.
