Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar: The Man Who Shaped India’s Destiny

2 Mins read
Today is the 132nd birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. April 14, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, is an inspiring day for us. It is a day to empower us to fulfill Dr. Ambedkar’s dream.

When you say April, the first thing that comes to mind is April 14 – Bhima Jayanti. Some people wait for Ambedkar Jayanti throughout the year and celebrate it like Diwali. A grand procession of Dr. Ambedkar’s idol is taken out.

This year, on April 14, the statue of the great man Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will be unveiled at Maithal Dam in Damodar Valley, near Dhanbad, Jharkhand. This is a matter of great joy. Due to Damodar Valley, there has been a huge green revolution in the areas of West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Due to the flooding of the Damodar River, Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa suffered heavy losses. Therefore, the Damodar Valley Project, built by constructing 7 dams on the Damodar River, has become historic. In 1943, when Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was the Labor Minister in the Viceroy’s Cabinet, he built the Damodar Valley with great effort.

Along with Damodar Valley, he also inaugurated the Son River Project, Bhakra Nangal and Hirakud Dam. With dams, water irrigation and energy, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar first made the country aware of electricity generation.

Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated throughout the month of April. At the beginning of April (1st April), the Foundation Day of the Reserve Bank is celebrated.

The Reserve Bank of India was established according to the thesis ‘The Problem of Rupee’ written by Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar. Therefore, Reserve Bank Foundation Day is celebrated by honoring Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar as the best economist in the world.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s thoughts are instrumental in making the country a superpower by strengthening the economy of India. If the Constitution of India is realised, India will become a world superpower.

Dr. Ambedkar brought the untouchables out of the vicious circle of inhumane discrimination. This outcast community outside the villages was brought into the mainstream of the country. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is the pioneer of the era of equality.

Dr. Ambedkar has taught all countrymen about patriotism. He opposed personality worship. He always used to say that I am an Indian first and an Indian last. Dr. Ambedkar taught patriotism through the idea that the nation is superior to caste, religion, region, and language.

The architect of the Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar, is also the architect of modern India. The constitution given to India by Dr. Ambedkar is the best constitution in the world.

The Indian Constitution has been named as the model constitution in the world for parliamentary democracy. The Indian constitution is strong because of values like social equality, economic equality, secularism, fraternity, social justice and freedom.

Because of the constitution, Indian parliamentary democracy stands strong as the largest democracy in the world.

An egalitarian India should be created by eradicating all discrimination such as caste and religion. Instead of being proud of caste, we should be patriotic as Indians.

We must be Indians first and Indians last. Instilling such a feeling of patriotism in the heart is the real great man Dr. Ambedkar, who will be saluted today.
