A retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Pune is at the center of a disturbing criminal case, accused alongside his wife and son of harassment and attempting to molest their daughter-in-law. The Sahakar Nagar Police have registered a case against the trio based on a detailed complaint from the 30-year-old victim, who married into the family in May 2025. The victim’s official statement, filed at the Sahakar Nagar Police Station, outlines a calculated deception by the accused family. She named her husband, Gaurav Tambe (35), an MBA holder, her father-in-law, retired ACP Jay Singh Tambe (61), and mother-in-law, Shraddha Tambe (56). According to the complaint, the Tambes were fully aware of their son’s impotence but wilfully hid this critical medical fact from the woman and her family before the wedding.

The alleged harassment campaign culminated on June 23rd. The victim states that she was alone in her room when her retired ACP father-in-law, Jay Singh Tambe, attempted to molest her. She detailed that he held her tightly and issued threats of physical violence if she resisted his advances. The incident, which marks a severe escalation in the case, prompted her to immediately seek safety at her parental home.
Police Investigation and Ongoing Manhunt Underway
Following her escape, the victim mustered the courage to file a formal First Information Report (FIR) against all three family members. She was in trauma for the last few months and moved to her parental home. Later, she filed a police complaint against her in-laws. The accused are on the run, and we have initiated a search. Soon, they will be arrested. The matter is under investigation.”
