The book ‘Shyamchi Ai’ translated by Rasika Pavaskar to be released in Mumbai on Sunday

 Niket Pavaskar

The book ‘Shyamchi Ai’ which created love, affection and devotion towards mother in Indian youth has now been translated into Chinese language. The translated book will be released on Sunday, January 29 by Anam Prem. This book has been translated by Rasika Prabhakar Pavaskar, who hails from Talere in Sindhudurg district.

Talere Village’s Rich Heritage

Talere village in the district has a rich social, cultural, educational, sports and literary heritage. This legacy has now reached the international level through Rasika. Due to her once again Talere village has reached the international level.

Rasika Prabhakar Pavaskar is pursuing a degree in Chinese language teaching at Zhengzhou University in Henan Province, China. “Shyamchi Ai” is being translated into Chinese by Rasika Pavaskar as a debt to a mother, Pujya Saneguruji and the society as per the guidance of a devotee.

The novel ‘Shyamchi Ai’ was written by Pujya Sane Guruji in the year 1933 and it expresses immense feelings of love, devotion and gratitude towards the mother. Millions of copies of this book have reached Marathi families and people from other communities. Acharya Atre describes this book as a Mahamangal “stotra” of maternal love. This book received enthusiastic response from the readers. Moreover, the importance of mother has reached home through the movie ‘Shyamchi Ai’ directed by Acharya Atre and released in 1953. The film won the ‘Golden Lotus’ award for Best Feature Film at the first National Film Awards ceremony organized by the Government of India.

Rasika Pavaskar intends that the Indian culture which regards mother as a deity should reach abroad as well. A mother is a mother. We cannot express ourselves about her. Our hearts and minds are filled with her love.

An Indian mother and a Chinese mother are not different, the love of an Indian mother and a Chinese mother for their children is the same. A mother’s love is the same no matter where you go in the world. Rather than growing up in the world, they want to enter the heart of every mother. She chose this book to imbibe this.

There are many books in Marathi that give the feeling that books loaded with heartfelt and true feelings touch the heart. Many books have also been written on mothers and motherhood. Among such heartfelt books, “Shyamchi Ai” has been leading for the past nine decades. “Shyamchi Ai” has been translated into various Indian and foreign languages.

But it was not translated into Chinese until now. Therefore, Rasika Prabhakar Pavaskar of Anam Prem Parivar has translated “Shyamchi Ai”, the holy Mahamangal book of Marathi literature into Chinese language.

Release in Mumbai on January 29

The publication of ‘Shyamchi Ai’, translated into Chinese language, will start on Sunday, January 29 at 10 am at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Prabhadevi, P. L. Deshpande Kala Academi, Mini Theatre, 3rd Floor.

The chief guest on this occasion will be former Honorary Secretary of Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute Prof. Dr. Srikanth Bahulkar. The publication of the book will be done by Chinese Yupepe, Jane.

Rasika holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Mumbai University. And she is pursuing a degree in Chinese language at Zhengzhou University, Henan Province, China.
