Unmasking Madhu Krishan and His Web of Deception

However, a wave of self-styled “Patriarchs” has emerged, bringing with them controversy, scandal, and deception. One such figure is H.E. Prof. Dr. Sir Madhu Krishan, who styles himself as the Patriarch of the “Synod of the Global Apostolic Dioceses & Churches USA.”
Madhu Krishan’s Expanding Web of Influence
Sprouts News previously exposed Madhu Krishan for allegedly selling fraudulent PhDs to various individuals. Recently, he has directed his focus towards Sri Lanka. In a grand ceremony, he ordained self-proclaimed “Prophet” Jerome Fernando as a bishop under his synod.
Jerome Fernando, formerly a protégé of controversial televangelist Uebert Angel- exposed by Al Jazeera as a gold smuggler—has now aligned himself with Madhu Krishan. Fernando, once calling himself Angel’s “Son,” has seemingly switched allegiances to become Madhu Krishan’s latest acolyte.
The ordination, conducted with pomp and dressed in what appeared to be Catholic priestly garb, sparked outrage among Sri Lanka’s Catholic community. In response, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Sri Lanka issued an official statement, warning followers not to be misled by such ceremonies.
A ‘Patriarch’ of Questionable Credibility
Madhu Krishan’s operations are marked by a dizzying array of organizations bearing names that suggest legitimacy and global reach. His institutions frequently include terms like “UN,” “Human Rights,” “Global Peace,” and “USA” to lend credibility. Among his most prominent entities is the Academy of Universal Global Peace (AUGP) University, which the United Nations explicitly lists as falsely claiming affiliation.
Madhu Krishan’s long list of accolades is equally dubious. The “Award Council of India,” an organization with no ties to the Indian government, reportedly honored him with the “Pride of India” Award. His biography on this platform boasts titles such as “Social Reformer,” “Environmental Scientist,” “Disaster Management Expert,” and “Legal Aid Specialist.” However, evidence supporting these claims remains scant.

Fake Degrees and Fabricated Endorsements
Through honorary degrees and awards, Madhu Krishan reportedly gains the support of politicians and VIPs, giving his operations an air of legitimacy. His recent claims of receiving a congratulatory letter from Donald Trump for Jerome Fernando’s ordination turned out to be from a televangelist linked to Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Adding to the controversy, Jerome Fernando has launched the Prophet Jerome Institute of Theology, potentially another avenue for distributing dubious degrees under Madhu Krishan’s banner.
