The Startup Frontier 1.0 conference placed innovation, entrepreneurship and skill development at the centre of Maharashtra’s vision for a developed India, with Governor Jishnu Dev Varma urging universities to convert knowledge into industries that generate employment and social transformation. The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, startups, academicians and students to discuss innovation-led growth.
Organised by Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University and iSpark Foundation under the state’s Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department, the one-day conference and exhibition was inaugurated at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan in Mumbai. The programme showcased initiatives aimed at strengthening Maharashtra’s startup ecosystem while encouraging stronger collaboration between academia and industry.

The Economic Offences Wing has registered an FIR against the former director of Dr D Y Patil B-School following a forensic audit that allegedly uncovered ₹4.98 crore in financial irregularities and suspected electronic evidence tampering.
The Dr D Y Patil B-School embezzlement case has intensified after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) registered an FIR against former director Amol Anandrao Gawande over alleged financial irregularities amounting to ₹4.98 crore. Based on a forensic audit, investigators are examining alleged commission payments, salary disbursements, questionable vendor transactions, and claims involving confidential data theft and destruction of electronic evidence. The case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, 2000, and remains under investigation.

A former director of Dr D Y Patil B-School in Pune has been booked following allegations of financial irregularities amounting to ₹4.98 crore. The case also includes allegations of confidential data theft and destruction of electronic evidence after a forensic audit.
The Dr D Y Patil B-School embezzlement case has taken a significant turn after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) registered an FIR against former director Amol Anandrao Gawande over alleged financial irregularities involving approximately ₹4.98 crore. The case also includes allegations of theft of confidential institutional data and destruction of electronic evidence.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the case was registered on July 4 at Wakad Police Station by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). The complaint was lodged by an employee on behalf of Dr D Y Patil B-School, located in Tathawade, Pune, following findings emerging from a forensic financial audit.
The FIR invokes Sections 316(4), 318(4), 248, 336 and 340 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 43, 66 and 72(A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the allegations, while the accused is entitled to present his defence during the legal proceedings.

The renaming of Karmala ITI and Maharashtra’s ITI modernisation plan formed the centrepiece of a ceremony held in Solapur district, where the Government Industrial Training Institute at Karmala was officially renamed in honour of the late Madandas Devi for his contributions to nation-building, education and student development.
The naming ceremony recognised the public service of the late Madandas Devi, who served as former Sah-Sarkaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Organisers said the institution would commemorate his contribution to education, social service and inspiring generations of students.
The event was attended by RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar, Maharashtra Minister for Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MLA Narayan Aba Patil, former MLA Ram Satpute, Karmala Municipal President Mohini Sawant, Rashmi Bagal, Director of Vocational Education and Training Satish Suryawanshi, Joint Director Chandrashekhar Dhekane, Joint Commissioner Sangeeta Khandare, Vocational Education and Training Officer Manoj Bidkar, Institution Management Committee Chairman Jitendra Rathi, and Madandas Devi’s elder brothers Khushaldas Devi and Radheshyam Devi.
