Hindu Sammelan and Kalash Yatra at Banganga Draw Thousands, Mangal Prabhat Lodha Calls for Greater Social Unity
A large-scale Hindu Sammelan and Kalash Yatra held at Banganga-Walkeshwar in Malabar Hill brought together religious leaders, social organisations, women, youth, and citizens to promote cultural awareness, social harmony, and community unity.
The Hindu Sammelan and Kalash Yatra organised at Banganga-Walkeshwar in Malabar Hill witnessed enthusiastic participation from thousands of citizens as community leaders emphasised social cohesion, cultural awareness, and national consciousness.
The event was held in the presence of Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha and brought together representatives from religious, educational, social, and cultural sectors. Organisers stated that the initiative aimed to strengthen dialogue and cooperation among different sections of Hindu society.
Participants included women, youth, senior citizens, representatives of religious institutions, social organisations, and local residents. The programme focused on promoting social harmony, cultural heritage, civic responsibility, and awareness of Sanatan values through collective participation.
Traditional Kalash Yatra Highlights Cultural Heritage
The programme commenced at 4:00 pm with a grand Kalash Yatra that began from Prem Nagar and concluded at Kavale Math School in Banganga-Walkeshwar. Organisers described the procession as a symbolic expression of unity, faith, and cultural pride.
More than 250 women participated in traditional attire while carrying a sacred kalash on their heads. The procession featured devotional music, taal-mridang performances, lezim displays, cultural dances, bhajans, kirtans, and traditional religious presentations.
Saffron flags and devotional chants accompanied the procession as citizens welcomed participants with flower showers along the route. Organisers said the event reflected values of discipline, service, faith, and collective responsibility within society.
The Kalash Yatra also brought together participants from different regions, traditions, and linguistic backgrounds, reinforcing the message of social harmony and cultural continuity through a shared community platform.
Hindu Sammelan Focuses on Unity, Youth and Nation Building
Following the procession, a Hindu Sammelan was organised at 6:00 pm at Kavale Math School. Speakers addressed issues relating to cultural preservation, youth participation, social harmony, family values, nation-building, and the protection of Sanatan traditions.
Viththal Kamble, RSS Prant Karyawah for Konkan, spoke about the importance of organisational strength, social coordination, and constructive participation in national life. He highlighted the role of community engagement in fostering long-term social development.
Pujya Muniraj Sagarji Maharaj addressed attendees on spirituality, ethics, cultural traditions, and the preservation of Hindu heritage. He emphasised the importance of moral values and spiritual awareness in bringing positive change to society.
The conference was chaired by R. G. Bhatt, President of Walkeshwar Kashi Math. During his address, he underlined the importance of social responsibility, cultural continuity, and unity among different sections of society.

Mangal Prabhat Lodha Announces Wider Hindu Outreach Initiative
Addressing the gathering, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said Hindu Sammelans were being organised to promote public awareness, social harmony, and unity among various communities across Mumbai.
“Hindu Sammelans have been organised to promote awareness and unity within Hindu society. These gatherings have received enthusiastic public support, and women have also participated actively in large numbers,” Lodha said.
He informed attendees that nearly 1,000 Hindu Sammelans are planned across Mumbai in the coming months. According to organisers, the initiative aims to encourage dialogue, family awareness, youth participation, cultural preservation, and community engagement.
Speaking on the importance of continued social participation, Lodha delivered a message directed particularly towards community volunteers and youth leaders.
“A strong society is built when every individual becomes a guardian of culture, service, and unity. Stay committed to constructive work, inspire the next generation, and let your actions speak louder than your words,” Lodha said.
Organisers stated that the campaign seeks to connect individuals from different linguistic, regional, and cultural backgrounds through common objectives centred on social harmony, cultural awareness, and national development.

The programme witnessed significant participation from women, youth groups, senior citizens, religious institutions, social organisations, and community leaders representing various sectors of society.
