Former Lodha Developers director Rajendra Lodha has been named in a fresh FIR registered at Mumbai's NM Joshi Marg Police Station over an alleged ₹6.67-crore fraud.
The complaint concerns a 2019 Bhiwandi land development agreement and the allotment of a South Mumbai flat to Sacvir Builders and Developers LLP.
Investigators are examining allegations that a ₹5-crore brokerage claim was adjusted against the flat's purchase price.
Lodha Developers alleges that Rajendra Lodha and five others caused financial losses through the disputed transactions.
The new case follows his September 2025 arrest in a separate investigation in which police later alleged fraud totalling ₹181 crore.

Rajendra Lodha booked for yet another fraud, this time for defrauding Rs 6.5 crore SoBo flat

Over a year after the arrest of Rajendra Lodha, former director of Lodha Developers Ltd, skeletons are still tumbling out of his closet. Accused of duping Lodha Developers of several crores while occupying a prominent position in the company, the former director has been booked in yet another case recently by NM Joshi Marg police station. Already behind bars for a previous case, this time he has been accused of duping the company of Rs 6.67 crores back in 2019.

According to the FIR filed by Lodha Developers on October 22, back in 2019, Rajendra Lodha facilitated a land development agreement with the owners of a plot in Bhiwandi. He even paid brokerage of Rs 8.5 lakh for the same. Days later, he allegedly brought Sacvir Builders and Developers LLP into the picture. Sacvir’s directors had shown interest in buying a flat in Lodha’s South Mumbai project worth Rs 6.86 crores. Rajendra, on his authority, gave a discount of Rs 1.5 crores, after which the directors of Sacvir paid Rs 36 lakhs to Lodha Developers. The sale value of the flat was after discount arrived at Rs 5.36 crores.

Next, Rajendra in his communications to Lodha Developers, claimed that Sacvir was the broker in the Bhiwandi land deal and that they had assisted in obtaining clear and marketable title to the said land. He allegedly claimed that the value of their services was Rs 5 crores. He issued instructions to adjust the Rs 5 crore of brokerage owed to Sacvir in lieu of monies owed for the South Mumbai flat. Having completed all the documents, he allotted the flat to Sacvir. Not stopping at that, he brought in another individual, claiming that the person identified as Nitin Narayan Keni was in possession of the said land parcel in Bhiwandi and got Lodha Developers to pay him Rs 17 lakhs.

Rajendra Lodha Faces New FIR Over ₹6.67-Crore Flat Deal

The alleged fraud came to light recently after all the dealings done by Rajendra came under the scanner of Lodha Developers. The real estate developer has claimed that Rajendra Lodha, along with 5 others, pulled off a fraud amounting to Rs 6.67 crores. They have registered the FIR under sections 318(3), 318(4), 316(5) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Rajendra was arrested in September 2025, after Lodha Developers filed an FIR accusing him of defrauding the company of Rs 85 crores. The case was investigated by the Mumbai Crime Branch, which in December 2025 filed a chargesheet. In their chargesheet, Mumbai police claimed that Rajendra had deployed several techniques to allegedly dupe and defraud Lodha Developers. The chargesheet revealed that the fraud ran into Rs 181 crores.

Soon after, the Directorate of Enforcement started investigating Rajendra on charges of money laundering. In March, ED told the Special Court in Mumbai that the total proceeds of the crime allegedly pulled off by Rajendra was Rs 370 crores. This, the investigating agency claimed, was “generated through fraudulent land transactions, barter arrangements, cash component collected from flat buyers and layering of funds through various entities and persons”.

Interestingly, the initial application filed by Lodha Developers with NM Joshi Marg police did not include Rajendra’s name. After the preliminary inquiry, the police found Rajendra’s alleged involvement and included him in the FIR.
