The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating Uttar Pradesh-based YouTuber Anurag Dwivedi, who creates cricket-related content, in a money laundering case linked to an alleged online betting racket busted in West Bengal in 2022.
The probe has generated a lot of public interest, with authorities probing financial dealings reportedly involving Dwivedi’s relatives, associates and entities that were under the scanner during the agency’s money trail analysis.
The investigators said the case stemmed from an online betting syndicate allegedly being run through Telegram channels and betting platforms like Skyexchange. The operation was busted in 2022 during enforcement drives in Siliguri in West Bengal.
Earlier, five alleged supervisors linked to the betting network had been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the case. The information cited in the case identified Badal Bhardwaj as the alleged mastermind behind the syndicate.
Financial investigations had revealed transactions linked to accounts associated with relatives and associates of Anurag Dwivedi, the authorities said. The agency's findings from this investigation prompted it to open an investigation into money laundering.
ED Investigation Focuses on Alleged Betting Money Trail
The Enforcement Directorate said the proceeds allegedly generated through illegal betting applications were routed through mule accounts and hawala channels before being credited to various accounts and entities under probe.
Money was moved into companies and accounts associated with the family without any legitimate business basis, the agency said. These allegations are part of an ongoing investigation and have not been tried in court.
The agency conducted search operations linked to the probe in several cities, including Lucknow, Unnao, Delhi, Mumbai, Surat and Varanasi, in late 2025 and early 2026.
Authorities seized several luxury vehicles during the searches. Investigators released information that the list included a Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes, BMW Z4, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Thar.
The Enforcement Directorate also recovered around Rs 20 lakh in cash, it said. Bank deposits, insurance policies and other assets were also frozen as part of the continuing financial investigation.
The case has garnered attention for Dwivedi’s large online following and connections to cricket-related digital content. He's also been linked to the larger online fantasy sports and gaming ecosystem.

Social Media Presence Continues Amid Investigation
The investigation is still on, but Anurag Dwivedi recently celebrated his 26th birthday with a video message that was posted on social media and shared by his relatives and friends.
The video started with religious slogans by Dwivedi, announcing food offers at selected outlets. He said, “People of Nawabganj, Unnao and other parts of the country can join the celebration.
He further said that the travellers on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway could avail offers at the participating locations. The video spoke about food items like dosa, chhole bhature, samosa and pizza.
Dwivedi said in the message that completing 26 years in “Kalyug” itself is a big achievement. He expressed gratitude to his followers for their support, said he loved them, and signed off with “Love you” and “Jai Mata Ki.”
Dwivedi, a resident of Nawabganj, about 27 kilometres from the Unnao district headquarters, has amassed a huge digital following through his cricket-related videos and social media interaction.
It also made headlines on November 22, 2025, when he married his Lucknow-based girlfriend on a cruise in Dubai, an event that drew significant online attention.
