Dhananjay Jijabai Netaji Thorve, M.A., B.Ed., is an author, advocate practising at the Mumbai High Court, professor, social activist, and an accomplished orator. He is widely engaged as a Shivvyakhyata, delivering lectures on the life, leadership, vision, administration and achievements of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His deep interest in history has inspired him to study historical events, personalities and places beyond conventional academic boundaries.

As a writer, Thorve has contributed articles on a wide range of subjects, including current affairs, law, social issues, history, and the life, work and management principles of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His English articles have appeared on Sprouts News, while his Marathi writings have been published in newspapers such as Loksatta, Divya Marathi and Krushival.

Alongside his legal and literary work, Thorve is a professor who is actively involved in teaching and guiding students, with history being his favourite subject. He also supports and guides various NGOs on matters related to social work and law.

As an investigative author and history enthusiast, he frequently visits forts and other historically significant places. Through his writing and public advocacy, he raises concerns over the neglect, deterioration and inadequate preservation of forts and historical heritage, seeking greater accountability from government authorities and increased public awareness about protecting Maharashtra’s rich historical legacy.
