A major controversy has erupted over the alleged improper allocation of a 23,116-square-meter industrial plot in the OS-5/K open space of the TTC Industrial Area. A Sprouts News team member has officially filed a complaint, claiming that Messer’s Neva Technocity (1) Private Limited is being allotted the land without an online tender process, violating Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) rules.

According to the complaint, industrial plots must be allocated through an e-tendering process to ensure transparency. However, Sprouts News has learned that this plot is being directly allotted without advertisements or competitive bidding, denying other entrepreneurs a fair chance. The regional officer’s remark that “no other applications were received” is being questioned, as the lack of public advertisement itself prevented participation.

The complaint also highlights a massive financial loss of ₹150-160 crore to the state, as the land is allegedly being handed over at a significantly lower rate than the market value of ₹1,00,000 per square meter. Sprouts News asserts that the allocation should be done via e-bidding with advertisements in leading newspapers.

If corrective action is not taken, Sprouts News has vowed to take the matter to the High Court and file a complaint with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to investigate the financial irregularities.
