The Central Sanskrit University in Nashik, Maharashtra, conducts the first-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course. However, this course has not received approval from the relevant central government department. Despite this, the course is being conducted openly and illegally. Shockingly, this university has been awarded an A++ grade by This startling revelation was uncovered by the Sprouts Special Investigation Team (SIT) through the Right to Information Act.

The university was originally established in Vidyavihar (East), Mumbai, on land granted by the K.J. Somaiya Trust. It has been operating at this location since 2002. However, on July 31, 2024, the university was relocated to Pimpri Sayyad, Nashik. While courses from the previous campus are being continued at the new location, the B.Ed. a first-year course conducted in Nashik has yet to receive the necessary approval.

The teachers instructing the first-year B.Ed. students in Nashik are employees of the Vidyavihar campus’s B.Ed. department. Their teaching activities at the Nashik branch are irregular and deemed illegal, according to information obtained by the Sprouts SIT.

For any B.Ed. course to operate, approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is mandatory. However, the university has not yet obtained NCTE approval for the Nashik branch.
