A Mumbai-based so-called businessman has obtained a Rs. 50 crore loan based on forged documents related to the Collector’s land at Mahabaleshwar in Satara. The Special Investigation Team of Sprouts has obtained this shocking information.

Nizam’s descendant Barkat Ali Khan owns a spacious bungalow “Woodlawns” located on the Collector’s land in Mahabaleshwar. Sometime back a so-called businessman Dilip Thacker encroached upon this land. It is mandatory that permission of the Collector is obtained before seeking a loan pledging any land belonging to the Collector. However, Thakkar obtained a loan of Rs. 50 crore from Shapoorji Pallonji Finance Pvt Ltd based on forged documents, the SIT of Sprouts has reliably learnt.

Status

A bungalow leased out for 99 years to Nizam of Hyderabad is located at Hill station Mahabaleshwar. Today the bungalow is priced at over Rs. 250 crore. The ownership of this bungalow should have been with Nizam’s descendant Barkat Ali Khan. However Thacker prepared fake documents and encroached upon the bungalow, Nizam’s descendant alleged.

However, in a bold action, the Satara Collector Ruchesh Jaywanshi recently sealed the bungalow with assistance from police. After that, the matter reached the Bombay High court and now it is in the Supreme Court and the bungalow has been embroiled in controversy.
