2027 Kawasaki Z650S Launched in India at Rs 7.59 Lakh With Updated Design and Features
Kawasaki India has launched the 2027 Z650S featuring new Sugomi styling, TFT display, smartphone connectivity and a 649 cc parallel-twin engine.
Kawasaki has rolled out the updated 2027 Z650S in India, a middleweight street-naked motorcycle that will cost Rs 7.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle comes with updated styling and added features.
Kawasaki India has launched the motorcycle as a replacement for the 2025 Z650, and it gets a price hike of Rs 33,000 over its predecessor.
The outgoing model was priced at Rs 7.26 lakh (ex-showroom) earlier. The new motorcycle will be available in India only as a single fully-loaded standard variant.
The motorcycle gets a new dual-tone Pearl Blizzard White and Candy Lime Green paint scheme for a unique look. The new look is an evolution of the traditional Z-series identity, with some hints of the bigger Z900.
The motorcycle is based on Kawasaki’s Sugomi design philosophy, which means a crouched stance and a forward-leaning riding position. It is further differentiated from its predecessor with aluminium styling accents and a wider body profile.

It has an upswept exhaust, modern LED headlamps and LED tail lamps, and an aluminium radiator cover that adds to its aggressive street-naked look.
It features a lightweight tubular diamond frame with 41mm telescopic front forks and a horizontal back-link swingarm at the rear.
Braking is done by dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc. The motorcycle also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
Tyres are a 120/70-section front tyre and a 160/60-section rear tyre. These are designed to enhance the motorcycle’s road handling and overall performance characteristics.
The kerb weight is 193 kg, about five kg more than the outgoing Z650, which weighed in at 188 kg. The fuel tank still holds 15 litres.
Ground clearance is 130mm and seat height rises from 790mm to 805mm. The change in seat height may affect how easy it is for shorter people to get in and out in regular use.

Kawasaki Z650S Features and Technology
The 2027 Z650S adds even more rider convenience and connected functionality with a 4.3-inch, full-digital colour TFT instrument cluster that offers Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.
Kawasaki’s Rideology app allows owners to access a number of connected features such as call alerts, message alerts, navigation assistance, and scheduling motorcycle maintenance.
Other equipment includes a traction control system, dual-channel ABS, and an Assist & Slipper Clutch. These features enhance rider assist, braking confidence, and gear-shifting convenience.
649cc Engine, Power and Performance
The motorcycle is powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin petrol engine which churns out 67.3 bhp at 8000 rpm and peak torque of 64 Nm at 6,700 rpm.
The engine continues with its familiar twin-cylinder layout and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Kawasaki has teamed the powertrain with updated ergonomics and added tech for the new model.
Kawasaki Z650S Rivals and Market Position
The motorcycle is placed between Z300 and Z900 in Kawasaki India’s portfolio. Its key rivals are the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Triumph Trident 660.
The updated motorcycle comes priced at Rs 7.59 lakh (ex-showroom), a premium over its predecessor. Final on-road prices will vary based on insurance, registration fees, and applicable state taxes.
The launch will consolidate Kawasaki’s presence in the middleweight motorcycle segment in India. Prospective buyers will weigh the revised equipment, higher seating position, and pricing against competitors.
