Royal Enfield has launched the 2026 Continental GT 650 in India at ₹3,58,427 (ex-showroom), with sales beginning August 14. The updated cafe racer retains its 648cc parallel-twin engine, six-speed gearbox and Harris Performance-developed chassis, while gaining cosmetic and equipment upgrades. New features include LED turn indicators, a black-painted instrument cowl and USB Type-C fast charging. The motorcycle is offered in four colour options and continues with its 12.5-litre fuel tank, dual-channel ABS and 18-inch wheels.

Royal Enfield has launched the 2026 Continental GT 650 in India. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 3,58,427 (ex-showroom), and sales will begin across the country on August 14, 2026.

The updated cafe racer comes with a slew of cosmetic and equipment updates, including a black-painted instrument cowl, new LED turn indicators, and a USB Type-C fast-charging port.

Royal Enfield has preserved the fundamental mechanical package of the motorcycle, including the 648cc parallel-twin engine, six-speed gearbox, chassis by Harris Performance, and the tried-and-true cafe-racer styling. 

2026 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Gets Four Colour Options

The new Continental GT 650 is available in four colors – Rocker Red, British Racing Green, Apex Gray and Mr Clean, with different finishes on different variants.

The Rocker Red now comes with a blacked-out engine, exhaust and cast-alloy wheels, taking design cues from the Apex Gray version.

British Racing Green retains its polished engine and traditional spoke wheels, and the top-of-the-range Mr Clean gets a similar look to British Racing Green.

Royal Enfield has kept the sculpted fuel tank, committed riding position, and vintage silhouette, staying true to the motorcycle’s established cafe-racer identity even with the latest cosmetic updates.

The updated motorcycle's pricing places the range between Rs 3.58 lakh and Rs 3.88 lakh ex-showroom, depending on the selected colour and specification.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Features and Chassis

The 2026 Continental GT 650 is built on a steel tubular double-cradle frame developed in collaboration with Harris Performance. It features telescopic front forks and gas-charged twin rear shock absorbers.

The bike tips the scales at 214kg and has a ground clearance of 174mm. The 12.5-litre fuel tank should be more than enough for touring as well as daily riding.

It rides on 18-inch front and rear wheels, using 100/90-section front and 130/70-section rear tires. Braking is taken care of by 320 mm and 240 mm disks.

The bike is compatible with dual-channel ABS and disc brakes and gets a lighting package update with an LED headlamp, tail lamp, and turn-indicator units. 

Another practical welcome change is the addition of USB Type-C fast charging, catering to the growing demand for smartphone charging on daily commutes and longer motorcycle tours.

648cc Engine Remains Mechanically Unchanged

The biggest carry-over on the 2026 model is its engine. Royal Enfield is carrying over the air/oil-cooled 648cc twin-cylinder powerplant and six-speed transmission from the outgoing motorcycle.

As per the specifications provided for the updated model, the engine churns out 46.8 bhp at 7,150 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm.

The motorcycle comes with a saddle height of 804 mm and a wheelbase of 1,398 mm. The overall dimensions of the motorcycle are 2,119 mm in length, 780 mm in width, and 1,092 mm in height.

These specs allow Royal Enfield to retain the familiar riding character of the Continental GT 650, while adding incremental styling and convenience improvements, rather than undertaking a complete mechanical redesign.

What the 2026 Continental GT 650 Update Means

The 2026 update is an evolutionary one, with Royal Enfield concentrating on looks and lighting and day-to-day usability but retaining the proven engine, frame, and suspension architecture.

The new color treatments and additional equipment mean a freshened-up package for buyers considering the Continental GT 650, without really changing the known cafe-racer proposition of the motorcycle.

The new range will be available to prospective buyers from August 14 and is available through Royal Enfield’s authorized dealership network in India.
